This policy explains what personal information Studio Teale collects through studioteale.com, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it to what we need to sell and send you our work.

1. Who we are

Jake Teale, trading as Studio Teale is responsible for your information. Contact us at jake@studioteale.com or 18 Assheton Road, Beaconsfield, Bucks, HP9 2NP.

2. What we collect, and why

Your order details. Your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing address, and what you ordered. We use these to process and deliver your order and to handle any returns, because we need them to fulfil our contract with you.

Order and payment records. We keep these for our accounts and tax records, because the law requires it.

Your email address, if you join our list. We use it to tell you about new work and releases. We do this with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Messages you send us. This includes the contact form, emails and commission enquiries. We use them to reply to you and, for commissions, to agree the work. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering you, or on taking steps towards a contract you've asked about.

Basic browsing data. This includes pages viewed, your device and your approximate location. We use it to see how the site is used and to keep it secure. We rely on our legitimate interest, or on your consent where cookies require it.

We don't see or store your full card details; payments are handled by our payment provider.

3. Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only with services that help us run the shop:

  • Squarespace — hosts the website and shop

  • Squarespace Payments — processes payments

  • Squarespace Email Campaigns— sends our newsletter

  • Selected Courier — delivers your order

  • Google Analytics — site statistics, if used

  • Our accountant and HMRC — where required for tax

Some of these providers store data outside the UK, including in the US. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as approved contract terms.

4. How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records: 6 years from the end of the financial year, as required for tax

  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe

  • Enquiries that don't lead to an order: up to 2 years

5. Cookies

The site uses cookies that are needed for it to work, such as remembering your basket. With your permission, we also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can choose which to allow through the cookie banner, and change your mind at any time.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you

  • correct anything that's wrong

  • delete your information, where we don't need to keep it

  • stop or limit how we use it, or object to it

  • send your information to you or another organisation in a usable format

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in every email. To use any of these rights, email jake@studioteale.com. We'll respond within one month.

7. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first at jake@studioteale.com. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, and let you know the outcome.

8. Changes

We'll update this policy if anything changes, and show the date at the top.
