Terms of Service

Everything we sell is made by hand, and most pieces are one-offs. Small variations in shape, glaze and colour are part of the process, not faults. We photograph each piece as accurately as we can, but colours can look slightly different on different screens. Dimensions are given in the listing and are approximate to within a few millimetres.

Some pieces are decorative only. Where a piece is food safe, the listing says so.

Prices are in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies. Delivery charges are shown at checkout. Payment is taken when you place your order and is processed securely by Squarespace Payments; we never see or store your full card details.

You'll receive an email confirming your order. Our contract with you starts when we send that confirmation. Because most pieces are one-offs, if a piece sells twice at the same moment we'll tell you straight away and refund you in full.

We currently ship to the UK only. Pieces are packed carefully and sent insured and tracked, usually within 5 working days of your order. Local collection from Buckinghamshire can be arranged by email.

If your piece arrives damaged, please email us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the piece and the packaging, and keep the packaging. We'll arrange a replacement where possible, or a full refund.

If you change your mind, you can return a piece within 20 days of the day after it's delivered.

1. Email jake@studioteale.com to let us know you want to return it. We'll send you return shipping information.

2. Send the piece back within 14 days of telling us, well packed. Return postage is paid by you. We recommend an insured, tracked service.

3. We'll refund the price you paid and the original standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the piece, using your original payment method.

If a piece comes back damaged because it was handled more than needed to look at it, or packed poorly, we may reduce the refund to reflect that.

This doesn't affect your legal rights. If a piece is faulty or not as described, contact us and we'll put it right with a repair, a replacement or a refund.

Commissions are made to your specification, so the change-of-mind return in Section 6 doesn't apply. We'll agree the design, price, deposit and timescale with you in writing before any work starts. Deposits are non-refundable once making has begun. Your legal rights for faulty work still apply.

All designs, photographs and text on this site belong to Studio Teale. Buying a piece gives you ownership of that object, not the right to reproduce its design.

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to take reasonable care. We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
