A small bird on a bare branch, one wing already up, caught in the moment before it leaves. The drawing is carved into the clay and picked out in a warm brown oxide under a white glaze, with every feather cut as a separate plane.
Hand-built ceramic, carved with oxide and glaze. Ready to hang.
